Lemon Avenue Trail
The City of Bradbury is proposing to construct a walking trail along the south side of Lemon Avenue from Winston Avenue to the westerly city limits (Sombrero Road). The trail construction would consist of a 5’ wide decomposed granite walking surface installed adjacent to the existing curb along with a 5’ high white vinyl fence installed at the back of the trail along the right-of-way line. The City of Bradbury received funds for this Project from the California Department of Parks and Recreation Per Capita Program. This Project fulfills two of the 2022-2023 City Council Priorities: Capital Improvements and City Beautification. Once completed, the trail will allow for a safer, more accessible walking route in the City of Bradbury.
In 2020, the Bradbury City Council explored the possibility of installing a walking trail on either Winston Street or Lemon Avenue.
Due to cost and other obstacles, the project did not move forward at that time. In 2021, Council was made aware of State funds allocated to the City of Bradbury through the Per Capita Program. Moving forward, the City Council decided to use the funds to install a walking trail on Lemon Avenue.
The Bradbury City Council will be discussing the Lemon Avenue Trail project at their regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday, February 21, 2023 at 7pm. The Staff report can be accessed below.
