City Planner Description
Introduction
The City of Bradbury is a small, equestrian-oriented community located in the Los Angeles County, at the base of the San Gabriel Mountains. The City encompasses an area of 1.9 square miles, and includes 3.2 miles of public streets and roads, and a City Hall. Its present population is about 1,000.
Bradbury is a general law city operating under the council-manager form of government. The City Manager oversees all City functions. Bradbury maintains a staff of three full-time employees.
Services to be Provided
Under the supervision of the City Manager, typical city planning services shall include, but not limited to the following:

Number of Hours will vary between 20 to 30 hours a week

Review land use planning applications and prepare reports and recommendations on development regulations for action by City Council and Planning Commission

Prepare agendas and staff reports for Planning Commission meetings and City Council meeting as may be required by the City Manager.

Attend regular Planning Commission meetings and City Council meetings as may be required by the City Manager

Recommend level of environmental review required for proposed projects pursuant to the provisions of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA)

Process and review all development applications, site plans, lot line adjustment, and subdivision applications for compliance

Provide assistance to prospective developers and property owners in the processing of appropriate applications and plans for development and/or improvement of their property

Hold public office hours as deemed necessary by the City and provide assistance by telephone to the general public with questions related to planning and zoning issues

Prepare and maintain an application/plan log and tracking system in coordination with efforts of the Building Department and City Engineer
